Special Education Director Services
Special Education Directors hold active administrative licensure by the MN Department of Education. All public schools, including charter schools, are required to have a special education director on record. Special education directors support a variety of duties in accordance with your total special education system and state assurances. If you already have a special education director on record, director services are available on a per project or need basis such as to fill in for a leave of absence or support during especially busy times to complete critical projects.
Compliance and Monitoring Leadership
Support can be provided to internally review and prepare your team proactively for special education programs and fiscal compliance requirements. Services are customized to the depth and breadth of your need. The range of service can vary from staff development, internal review and recommendations, to comprehensive management of your compliance and monitoring process in collaboration with your team.
School Psychology Services
School Psychologists licensed by the MN Department of Education provide direct and indirect services such as:
Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions, direct service to students
Conduct special education evaluations
Complete functional behavior assessments
Support risk or threat assessments
Consult on multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) design, implementation and fidelity
Support data analysis and intervention design
Support positive behavior interventions and supports
Consult and support design of alternative to suspension plans
Special Education Director Mentor Services
Do you have a newer to the field or newly licensed special education director? Mentor service is available to support compliance with duties. Mentor support includes a monthly task list that will be customized to your site and needs. An audit will also be completed to review current special education processes and procedures that align to your total special education system, state assurances and special education director competencies. This data will be used to prioritize action plans and measure improvements for results driven leadership for years to come.
Professional Development
Licensed school psychologists, special education directors, principals and teachers are available to lead professional development customized to your needs. Presenters have local, state and national presentation experience. Training design is generally interactive and engaging to appeal to adult learning styles. Specialization includes due process training, behavior and mental health, multi-tiered systems of support, evidence based intervention and high leverage practices.
Due Process Audit
It is important that there is a golden thread between your evaluations, individual education plans, student programming, evidence based instruction and progress monitoring. A strong connection of these components helps support student progress and maintains the due process rights of students. Having a poor connection between elements can create both risk for the progress of your students and potential legal issues. The depth of a due process audit is based on the clients needs. An audit includes a review of records and practices as it relates to the golden thread and links to actionables for improvement, future recommendations and/or training needs. Additional outcome- based service is also available.
Parent / Guardian Consultation
Private consultation is available to review your students educational history and progress to inform and empower you around your rights in advocating for your student. A variety of consultants are available, care is taken to avoid any conflict of interest between your school of attendance and consulting provider.
Center-Based /Federal Setting
3 Program Consultation and Support-
Experienced special educators with extensive backgrounds in federal setting 3 programs can support an audit of your federal setting 3 programs to determine strengths and opportunities. This work can lead to an action plan with measurable deliverables with embedded training and support. Outcome-based services customized to your needs and scope of service desired. All audit work is tied back to research based quality indicators of effective center-based programs.
